Should I Buy Paintballing Vouchers?
A Guide to Paintballing Vouchers
As a leading supplier for online paintball bookings, we often get asked from players ‘Should I buy paintball vouchers?’ The forums of the online paintball world are filled with the words ‘scam’ and ‘rip off’, but we wanted to take a fresh look and decide ourselves. Of course, it is ultimately up to the player what is fair value but we wanted to set the facts straight on some of the pitfalls of buying paintball vouchers.
They Are (Nearly Always) Poor Value
Paintballing vouchers generally entitled you to entry and 100 paintballs for often upwards of €20 per peson. This is exceptionally poor value for money as Paintball.ie often offers upwards of 300 paintballs for less than €30. Whilst prices are venue dependant, it is always cheaper to book direct and with the Paintball.ie gaurtee, we’ll always beat a voucher price. Contact us today!
They Can Have Hidden Costs
An example voucher book for paintball that came across our desk required that a player ring a premium rate number and pay an additional fee to play. This fee, almost €150, was required to secure the booking and this was in addition to over €100 paid for the vouchers themselves. This is exceptionally poor value for money and we urge players to read all the fine print before buying a voucher book.
They Sometimes Have Hidden Clauses
A common voucher sales tactic is the offering of ‘free paintballs’ when the voucher is used in a booking. Unfortuantely, these paintballs are usually only issued at the very end of the day, meaning if you have not correctly budgeting your paintballs, you may have to spend additional money to recieve them.
Top Tips for Paintball Vouchers
- Check the small print and ensure there is no additional fee or charge to secure your booking.
- If you are being offered free paintballs, check when you will recieve it.
- Check your cost per 100 paintballs by dividing the total cost per player by the number of paintballs per player. Compare this to Paintball.ie prices.
