Top Paintball Questions Answered

Ever had that uncertainty when you’re just not sure what to expect? Those what-ifs and why’s that can leave you uneasy? Never fear, we’ve compiled a list of the most common questions in addition to the FAQs on every location page on Paintball.ie

Paintballs

Remember to always have paintballs for your day out. How many you need largely depends on the player, but we suggest between 500 and 1000. This roughly allows you 100 paintballs per side in a gamezone. This, of course, could be too many for some and not enough for others. However, we do suggest buying paintballs before you arrive as pre-bought paintballs are always cheaper, often up to 15%.

What To Wear Paintballing

The paintball dress code is one of the most commonly asked questions. Don’t over think your attire for the day as you will be given everything you need when you arrive. That said, you can make your day far more comfortable by:

  • Wear a T-shirt and light tracksuit bottoms under your supplied playing overalls. Don’t wear heavy or cumbersome clothes, and avoid any hoodies or jeans. You will be too hot and your mask will fog up quickly as a result. Gym wear is an excellent base layer as it will remove sweat and keep you cool.
  • Wear old runners, not sandals or open toe shoes. Hiking boots are ideal in wet weather for grip and ankle support, but not mandatory. Paintball venues are usually muddy and wet, so do not bring your brand new gym shoes.

Rain or Shine

Paintball is an all weather activity. Unless you are told otherwise, the day will take place. Paintball normally takes place in wooded and covered areas, as a result you may not even realise it is raining. Come prepared and you’ll have a great day!

Gamezones

Venues usually play 4 to 6 game zones. These games last about 10 to 15 minutes per site, with a short interval in between. You generally return to the basecamp area between gamezones. The games played can vary between capture the flag, deliver the bomb or defend the castle to name but a few!

Body & Mind

Between each game its important to get the most out of your venues basecamp facilitates. Keep your fluids up in warm weather and remember to cool off between games. Always defog your mask <SEE LINK> as soon as you return to the base camp and make sure you have plenty of paintballs before heading out again.
